Your subscription includes Legal AI hours. We convert AI usage into minutes so legal work is simple to understand and manage.
As a guide, one hour is about 24 emails, 120 Slack messages, or one hour of calls. An email typically uses 2–3 minutes, a Slack message about 30 seconds, and calls are based on their length. For larger legal tasks, FinePrint Counsel shows the estimated time before it starts, and you decide whether to proceed.
The economics can be significant. For example, 100 hours of calls, 40,000 emails and 10,000 Slack messages equal about 1,850 hours of legal work — roughly a full-time lawyer for a year. At $500/hour, that would cost about $925,000. At $20 per Legal AI hour, it costs about $37,000.
Need a human lawyer?
FinePrint Counsel can do the research, analysis and drafting first. If you need a licensed lawyer to review, approve or sign the work, the lawyer fee is charged separately.
Because the AI has already prepared the work, the lawyer can focus on review instead of starting from scratch — which can mean significantly less attorney time and a much lower fee than traditional legal service.
You always see and approve the lawyer fee before the review begins.
Your hours
Your plan’s hours refresh every month and unused hours do not roll over. If you run out, you can wait for the next month, upgrade your plan or buy additional Legal AI hours at $20/hour.
Government filing fees and other third-party charges are separate, and you approve them before they are incurred.
Pricing questions
How far do my hours go?
It depends on the work. Reviewing a short agreement takes less time than forming a company. Tell us your first task when you apply, and you will see its cost before you choose a plan.
Does a lawyer review every output?
Not every one. Legal work follows a process lawyers approved and sample-check. Work that needs additional legal judgment waits for review by a lawyer or an approved legal professional.
Can I cancel?
Yes. Plans are monthly. A cancelled plan runs to the end of the month you paid for, and your company record stays yours to export.
Is FineShield included in my plan?
Yes. Every plan covers Counsel and FineShield, on the same hours. For enterprises, we confirm the supported channels and scope with you before you start.
Can I keep my existing lawyer?
Yes. Tell us how you want your lawyer involved, and FinePrint can share the work and the company record with them.
